Mr. and Mrs. Hammond Sessions are proud to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their son, Hammond David, Jr, to Alisa Rachel Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Harris of Farmington, New Mexico.

Mexia to proceed with EMS contracts

The City of Mexia began its quest with action Tuesday evening to recoup some of the losses incurred with responding to ambulance calls outside the city limits.

The City Council action was for Mexia EMS to begin drawing up contractual Interlocal Agreements with governmental entities for providing Emergency Medical Services on ambulance calls. Fire Chief Clayton Shivers will then visit with those entities to hammer out final details of the EMS contracts.

One-third of Mexia's EMS calls are outside the corporate limits of the city. A year ago, those calls cost $146,533, although reimbursements to Mexia
